Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Matthew Booth has underlined that as much as the club has been known for signing good players and spending significant money, their prospects really transformed to a higher level when Pitso Mosimane took over the reigns in 2012.

Talking to Soccer Laduma in a one-on-one interview Booth stated that even the scouting improved under Mosimane who introduced the data capturing system on finding out which players they really needed for the squad.
Booth has noted how current coach Rulani Mokwena has continued with Mosimane's structure thus achieving the consistency the club requires going forward.
"The first time when I was at Sundowns before I went to Russia we had a very good team and we were doing very well," Booth told Soccer Laduma.
"But during my second coming it was a time when the club was buying players and releasing (many) players and we went for some time without winning anything.
"It's the arrival of coach Pitso Mosimane that changed things. He took the reigns of signing players. And then he brought in the data capturing system to scout players fit for the club.
"Now Rulani Mokwena has taken over from what Pitso was doing and continued with consistency. The technical team including the team doctors and other important members haven't changed that much.
"That's very important. Even the signing of players this season. You see the full backs they have brought in are good for the team and the four or five attacking players in front of Tebogo Mokoena are all top class players. That's what is making Sundowns dangerous," Booth said.

The former Bafana Bafana defender added that he has no doubt the Brazilians will defend their DStv Premiership league title.
"You see they are already leading with good points at this stage and at the end they can win with a 10 point gap. They want to make sure that by the Christmas break they are safe so that when they play in the Champions League they are not under pressure from the second-placed team in the league.
"But yes, I believe they will defend the league title this season," Booth concluded to Soccer Laduma.
