With the likes of Percy Tau and Fagrie Lakay not part of the latest Bafana Bafana squad, Kaizer Chiefs forward Ashley du Preez is planning to seize the opportunity to ensure he leaves a lasting impression on head coach Hugo Broos.
Du Preez was called up to the national side for the upcoming international friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana after Belgian based Lyle Foster was ruled out with an injury.

Du Preez, who has scored two goals for Amakhosi since joining them from Stellenbosch FC, said he has not been able to find the right words to describe the feeling of being called up to the national side.
"It was actually strange. I was at practice with Chiefs and on my way home, I received a call. I haven't had words to express the feeling. That moment I was just overwhelmed. I wanted this opportunity. It's here now and I will grab it with both hands and make sure that I enjoy every moment," Du Preez said via the Bafana Bafana media department.

"As a young player, you watch Bafana Bafana back then and it was amazing the way the players played. Now I am here, and I think I want to do the same. Now you can express and show the world what you are coming of doing. Every player wants to make their mark and show everyone what they are capable of doing. That's exactly what I want to do. I want to express the talent I have and make a mark."
