Bafana Bafana's Latest FIFA Ranking Place Has Been Revealed

Bafana Bafana's Latest FIFA Ranking Place Has Been Revealed

Bafana

FIFA have confirmed their latest rankings, with Bafana Bafana and Molefi Ntseki finding out what their win over Sudan did for their placement in the world and in Africa.

Bafana lost to Ghana in their opening 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier earlier in the month, but bounced back with a 1-0 win over Sudan to end the year in second place in their group with four games to go.

The win, however, was not enough to see South Africa move at all in the November FIFA Rankings, with Ntseki's side remaining 72nd in the world – between United Arab Emirates and Canada – and 13th in the continent in-between Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea.

Bafana now have a lengthy wait before they're in action again as their head coach plans for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers that are coming up in March, but there is still one more rankings update to come before on the end of the year on December 19.

The biggest climbers this month were Myanmar who climbed up 11 places, while Nicaragua suffered the biggest drop, falling 13 spots.
