Shakes Mashaba's side have been slowly moving up the rankings since the turn of the year, with his side starting 2016 in 74th, moving to 73rd in February and now jumping up to 70th in the March rankings.
The jump also sees Mashaba's men move up two places within Africa to 14th on the continent, while Cape Verde (31st) are now the highest ranked team within CAF.
Meanwhile, the World's top 25 – topped by Belgium - have remained largely unchanged, with the only movement seeing Italy move above Holland into 14th place. The best mover this month is Armenia who moved up seven spots into 116th, while it was a bad month for Sao Tome e Principe who dropped 15 to 174th.
There is a big opportunity for South Africa to move even further up the rankings this month as they take on Cameroon in two vital African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
