Teams: South Africa v São Tomé e Príncipe
Date: 13 November 2020
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
Bafana Bafana resume their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign when they host Sao Tome and Principe in Group C on Friday evening.
South Africa started the campaign with a 2-0 loss to leaders Ghana in November last year away from home but they got their first points on the board after edging Sudan 1-0 three days later at Orlando Stadium.
Molefi Ntseki's charges are placed in second spot in Group C with three points and already trail the Black Stars by six points after they beat Sudan on Thursday evening.
However, that result favoured Bafana, as the North African country remain in third spot, equal on points with South Africa, having played a match more.
If Bafana win, they will move three points clear of Sudan and three points behind Ghana in second spot.
The island nation, meanwhile, are yet to get any points in the group so far, after losing their opener 4-0 away to Sudan in November last year.
Sao Tome and Principe almost got a point against Ghana on home soil five days later but narrowly lost 1-0 after conceding a penalty that was scored by Jordan Ayew.
