Who Are Lionel Messi's Favourite Opponents?

With Lionel Messi recently netting his 600th FC Barcelona goal, here are the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's 10 favourite opponents, a ranking that includes the Blaugrana's biggest rivals, Real Madrid!

The Argentine superstar netted a sensational brace in the first leg of the Blaugrana's UEFA Champions League semi-final win over Liverpool last week Wednesday, and in doing so, equalled arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo's tally of 600 club goals, although Messi achieved the feat in 118 fewer games.

With 600 strikes in just 683 official matches for the Spanish giants, the 31-year-old averages an astounding 0.87 goals per game, but which team is the La Masia academy graduate's favourite victims?

Spanish outfit Sevilla sits at the summit of the podium of Messi's favourite opponents, with the Barca captain having found the back of the net on 36 occasions in just 35 games against them in all competitions. Los Hispalenses are also the team Messi netted his 100th Barca goal against, in a LaLiga encounter in January 2010.

Atletico Madrid occupy second position in the ranking, with Messi scoring 29 goals in 38 games against Diego Simeone's side. Atletico also ranks as the team Messi has received the most yellow cards against (12), along with Zinedine Zidane's Los Blancos.

Valencia are the final team on the podium, with Messi having netted 27 goals in 32 games against Los Che since making his top-flight debut in 2004.
