A prominent Kaizer Chiefs supporter and entertainment figure, Moeti Tsiki shared his thoughts on what is expected from the upcoming Carling Black Label Soweto derby.
The two sides will lock horns at the FNB Stadium on July 27, in the return of the CBL Cup, with Amakhosi and Pirates having made several changes to their squads for the new season.

"I will tell you one thing – both teams have a lot to prove. Chiefs had a shocking season, where they finished a disappointing ninth on the log, and it was the worst in a long time. I think any professional would want to come out and prove that they are the Glamour Boys that they say they are," Tsiki told Soccer Laduma.
"So, I think Chiefs will certainly want to show that they are the great team that they are and will want to come out guns blazing on the 27th. For Pirates, they would obviously want to show that, as much as they didn't win the league, they're still one of the best teams in the country. I think it (this game) is beautifully poised, although we might not get the pace we want because of the off-season break and the fact that some players didn't go to play in the Afcon in Egypt. Having said that, the Soweto Derby forces the players to rise to the occasion and I think we're going to have a good spectacle.
"We strengthened our midfield and attack and I think, more than anything, it is about how they (new signings) adapt to the set-up. How do they adapt to the style of play. I think it is very important for the supporters to give these players a chance. A player is not going to come on debut and show magic. It takes time, but what is important is that the players need to be aware that time is important in their development and they have to prove themselves in order to find a place in the team. For Chiefs, the reenergising aspect of the team is going to be a big thing because we want to see that the boys have learned their lesson from last season and that they are ready to start a new season," he added.
