The Dutchman says that Los Blancos have treated the situation with disregard, and believes that the Spanish giants knew that the Frenchman doesn't have the correct qualifications to coach their reserve team.
"He has to be registered with UEFA. I don't understand why it all came out two months after the event," he told AS.
"That's what annoys me. Madrid have made a mess of the whole thing because whoever is in the office should have told them with a phone call."
Cruyff is a firm believer that all coaches should have the necessary requirements, however, he does recognise that Zidane may be the exception to the rule, due to the former Real Madrid star's experience.
"There are few as good as him," he added.
"So we can't really ask them to learn what they've already showed that they know."
Zinedine Zidane has been in charge of Real Madrid's Castilla since July 2014, after initially being the club's director of football.
During his time as a player for the Spanish giants, Zidane played 227 games, scoring 49 goals and assisting 34 for his teammates.
