The football fraternity has sadly experienced its first death of a player by coronavirus, with his father and another family member also losing their battle with the disease.

Bolivian player Deibert Frans Roman Guzman, who played for second division side Universitario Beni and represented his country at youth level, passed away last week after several weeks in hospital, according to Daily Star.
"The Bolivian Football Federation expresses its sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Deibert Frans Roman Guzman, and we ask for God's strength in these difficult times," Bolivian FA president Angel Suarez said in a statement.

His death comes after he lost both his father Belizario Roman, who was a former president of his club, and his uncle Luis Carmelo Roman to the virus in the past couple of months.

All three reportedly lived in the same house along with Belizario's wife and two daughters.
