Portugal qualified for the inaugural Nations League finals after topping their group alongside Italy and Poland. They finished the qualification unbeaten after picking up two narrow wins and two draws.

He returned to the selection in the recent qualifiers for the 2020 UEFA European Championship and will be aiming for bis second international trophy with A Selecao.

Portugal host the tournament and will be keen on reaching the final on home soil in attempt to lift the trophy in their home country after failing to win the 2004 Euro in Portugal.

However, opponents Switzerland will be no pushovers after qualifying from their group with World Cup semi-finalists Belgium and Iceland.

The Nati, as the side is known, qualified for the Nations League finals after shocking Belgium in their final group game by beating them 5-2.

Despite their surprise qualification, Switzerland's form has been up and down, with the side of Vladimir Petkovic losing three of their last eight games since the 2018 World Cup. Portugal, meanwhile, are unbeaten since Russia 2018 but have drawn five of their eight games over this run.
