Spain maintained top spot in their UEFA Nations League group after defeating Switzerland 1-0 on Saturday evening.
Ferran Torres, Jose Gaya, Mikel Oyazabal and Sergio Busquets were recalled by Luis Enrique as 17-year-old Ansu Fati kept his place in the attack.
Just minutes after David de Gea brilliantly kept out Benito, Spain broke the deadlock on 14 minutes as Oyarzabal turned home Mikel Merino's cross.
Spain were denied a second goal in the 29th minute after Yann Sommer produced a superb save to keep out Torres' free header from around 10 yards out.
Despite Switzerland's lively start to the encounter, they were unable to test De Gea for the rest of the opening 45 minutes and went into the break trailing by the lone goal.
Oyarzabal should have doubled the hosts' advantage 10 minutes into the second half but he failed to the target from five yards out while De Gea did well to deny Mehmedi at the other end.
The Spanish introduced Adama Traore and Canales for Fati and Daniel Olmo just before the hour mark while the Swiss introduced Xherdan Shaqiri for Admir Mehmedi minutes later,.
The visitors continued to push bodies forward in search of an equaliser but they were unable to carve out a clear opening as La Roja held on for the slender win in Group A in League A.
Spain will no travel to Ukraine on Tuesday evening while Switzerland take on Germany on the same night.
