Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has revealed why he threw a water bottle in anger after he was taken off during the German giants' 2-0 win over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Bayern Boss Reacts To Mane Concerns
The former Manchester City star scored in Bayern's victory over the Blaugrana following a brilliant run through the opposition's defence before smartly tucking the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Sane, 26, was later substituted as Julian Nagelsmann's team led by two goals, with cameras capturing the Germany international throwing a water bottle in anger as he walked off, leading to suggestions he was annoyed at being taken off.
Speaking after the game, however, the winger insisted he was not frustrated with his manager's decision and said his response had more to do with his own performance.
"I wasn't angry about my substitution," he said, according to iMiaSanMia.
"The bottle had to suffer a bit because I didn't play a good game.
"The goal was nice, but I wasn't entirely happy with my performance today."
Sane has enjoyed a bright start to the 2022/23 campaign so far, having already contributed to eight goals in 10 matches across all competitions.
