Real Madrid wonderkid Rodrygo became the latest Brazilian star to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, and in doing so followed in the footsteps of the some of the biggest names in football to come from the nation.

Rodrygo netted a treble in his sides 6-0 demolition over Turkish giants Galatasaray on Wednesday night and in doing so became the second-youngest player in the competition's history to score a hat-trick, behind Real legend Raul.
The 18-year-old follows in the footsteps of an illustrious list of Brazilian players to have taken the Champions League by storm, which includes PSV Eindhoven legend Romario who became the first Brazilian player to net a hat-trick in the UCL back in 1992.

Eight years later, FC Barcelona star Rivaldo popped up with three goals against AC Milan before Ronaldo Nazario netted his first, and only UCL treble for Real Madrid in 2003.
Former Shakhtar Donetsk star Luiz Adriano has scored the most hat-tricks of any Brazilian player, with the 32-year-old having done so on three occasions, and also holds the record of being the first player to net three or more times in back-to-back games.
