The Egyptian side will face South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final, with the first leg set to take place on Saturday 24 May in Pretoria and the return leg set for 1 June in Cairo.

Speaking to Botolaat ahead of the final, Adel pleaded with the Pyramids fans to show support to the team and he hoped they would be out in full force ahead of the final.

"God willing, Pyramids fans will continue to stand behind us and support us," Adel said.

"We hope that we can bring joy to the people, even if only a few truly support us from their hearts. God willing, we’ll make them happy with trophies," he added.

He revealed that the team was motivated ahead of their first continental final and hoped to become history-makers.

"For me, the Pyramids experience is very important," Adel revealed.

"We're creating our own motivation at this stage, despite the many challenges that don’t make it easy for us. But we have big names and players capable of handling the responsibility."

He added: "We hope to achieve something this year and bring joy to the people who love us sincerely, even if they’re few. God willing, we’ll be the first to make history for the club."

On a personal note, Adel wants to win this year's Champions League but he also carries ambitions of playing abroad and competing for the Ballon D'Or.
