As excitement builds ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, we take a look at the top 10 most valuable teams playing in this year's competition.

The Club World Cup expanded from a one-week, eight-team tournament to a month-long, 32-team football feast where the biggest sides from each continent face off in a round-robin competition to determine the best team in the world.
The tournament will feature the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea representing UEFA, Al Hilal, and Ulsan HD representing the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), while Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly will fly the flag high for Africa.
In it's inaugural edition, there are some unexpected matchups. Jose Riveiro's Al Ahly will face Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the tournament opener.
Elias Mokwana will go head-to-head with Cole Palmer when Esperance de Tunis faces Chelsea, while Masandawana is set to face German behemoths Borussia Dortmund.
Some of the world's most valuable teams and players will showcase their talents in the USA for the tournament.
Leading the way is Real Madrid, one of three teams to boast a squad value exceeding €1 billion (R20.2 billion).
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich round out the top five teams, while Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus also feature.
According to Transfermarkt, Mamelodi Sundowns, who boast the 27th most valuable team in the tournament at €35.25 million (R712 million), face Borussia Dortmund, the tournament's 9th most valuable team boasting a squad value more than 12 times that of Masandawana.
Al Ahly are the highest ranked African side with a squad value €49.65 million (R1 billion) while Esperance de Tunis' squad is worth €20.35 million (R412 million)
