Transfer Update: Paul Pogba

Transfer Update: Paul Pogba

Juventus were reportedly ready to sell Paul Pogba in the recent transfer window.

With Paul Pogba still at Juventus despite his injury record over the past 12 months, here is the latest on the Frenchman's future following his nightmare return to the Italian giants.

After a difficult and complicated six-year stay at Manchester United between 2016 and 2022, the 30-year-old returned to Turin as a free agent to reunite with head coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Injuries, however, plagued the midfielder's homecoming as he made just 10 appearances across all competitions and missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a result.

The latest coming out of Italy suggests that the club was considering his sale in the recently passed transfer window, with Tuttojuve stating the Serie A outfit would have let him leave if an appropriate offer for his signature had arrived.

It is believed that no enquiries about Pogba were made, though, and that Allegri, despite the club's stance, remains determined to help the 20218 FIFA World Cup winner get back to his best.

Tuttosport, meanwhile, claims that Bianconeri director Cristiano Giuntoli has scheduled a meeting with the ex-Premier League player's agent Rafaela Pimenta to negotiate a wage cut.

Pogba is reportedly earning €8 million (R165 million) annually in Italy until 2025, but the Bianconeri are hoping to find a new agreement due to the unfortunate circumstance surrounding the midfielder's fitness.
