According to Il Corriere dello Sport, I Bianconeri have successfully agreed personal terms with Belgium's all-time top goalscorer as they look to finalise a deal that would see him make his way to the Allianz Stadium instead of Inter Milan.
The 30-year-old marksman has recently returned to Chelsea after his season-long loan with I Nerazzurri, and, while it has been widely reported that he prefers a permanent switch back to the Giuseppe Meazza, it seems that a move to Turin may also suffice for the prolific attacker.
The same report, however, claims that the record Scudetto winners are extremely unhappy with the Blues for telling Inter about their interest in Lukaku as it looks like the Premier League giants are trying to instigate a bidding war for their record signing.
The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League finalists are believed to have had an initial £30 million (R723 million) bid for Lukaku rejected earlier in the window as the English side are rumoured to be holding out for £40 million (R964 million) for the Antwerp native.
The 19-time Serie A champions are expected to, however, make an improved offer for the striker once the sale of goalkeeper Andre Onana is completed.
