Inter 'Keen' On Arsenal Star After Failed Lukaku Pursuit

Inter Milan are reportedly seriously interested in signing a young star from Arsenal.

Having withdrawn their interest in Romelu Lukaku, Inter Milan have reportedly shifted their focus to acquiring an Arsenal star's services.

The Nerazzurri pulled out of the race for the Belgian attacker, who spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan with them, after it came to light that the 30-year-old was in discussions with Juventus over a potential move to the Allianz Stadium.

Consequently, the 19-time Serie A champions have compiled a new shortlist of forwards, and among the names at the top of it is Arsenal's Folarin Balogun.

The United States of America international enjoyed a fruitful season out on loan at Stade Reims in Ligue 1 this past campaign, scoring 22 goals in all competitions, and has garnered interest from some of Europe's bigger teams as a result.

According to Italian football transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the ball is now in Inter's court, with Balogun having already given the green light to join the recent UEFA Champions League finalists.

While it has been rumoured that the Gunners want between €55 and €60 million (R1.1 and R1.2 billion) for his signature, the same report claims that the two clubs could agree on a fee lower than that.

The New York-born attacker is, however, not the only player on the Italian giants' shortlist, with Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid, Udinese's Beto and FC Porto marksman Mehdi Taremi also believed to have caught the attention of Simeone Inzaghi's club.
