The Siya crew has been reliably informed that Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng has rejected advances made by Israeli giants.

Earlier this week, Soccer Laduma revealed that Israeli heavyweights Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv were in active discussions with the Sea Robbers over the signing of the 20-year-old attacker.
The former were the most forthcoming in their approach for the Bafana Bafana star, with this publication informed that they tabled an offer worth as much as €1.4 million (R29 million), along with a 20% sell-on clause in favour of the Buccaneers — an offer the club were willing to mull over.
However, Mofokeng is believed to have opted against even entering discussions over personal terms, as it is understood he is not keen on a move to the Ligat ha'Al.
The youngster has been linked with a plethora of major clubs across the world, with FC Barcelona being the most notable, and a source close to the situation has informed us that the School of Excellence alumnus’ preference is to move to a top-five European league, or at least to Western Europe in general.
The diminutive winger enjoyed a standout campaign with Pirates during the 2024/25 season, scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists in all competitions, spearheading the club’s attack as they progressed deep into various tournaments on all fronts.

There have also been suggestions that the player could be open to staying with the South African giants until after the Africa Cup of Nations and potentially targeting a move in the mid-season transfer window of the 2025/26 campaign.
