Former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, has reportedly phoned Cristiano Ronaldo to convince him to return to Old Trafford.
United have been linked with a big-money swoop for their former star, amid reports that the Portuguese has dismissed a move to England.
Some reports have claimed that a £140 million package would be needed to make the deal happen and United's fans have flown a 'Come Home Ronaldo' banner over his recent away game at Villarreal.
Now, new reports suggest that Ferguson called Ronaldo and spoke to him about returning to United.
It is widely known that Ronaldo worships his former mentor after Ferguson signed him from Sporting Lisbon as an 18-year-old.
The Scot helped and educated his progression as a young player during his early days in England and turned him into a Ballon d'Or winner before the now 29-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2009.
