African legend Samuel Eto'o has named who he thinks are the best players in the game right now, but snubbed five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

The retired Cameroon striker took part in an Instagram Live chat organised by Generation Amazing, a football development programme created as part of Qatar's successful 2022 FIFA World Cup bid, and discussed various topics around the sport.
The former FC Barcelona striker was asked to name the players he thinks are the best in the world today, and chose his ex-teammate Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, overlooking Ronaldo.
"The best current players? I'd have to go with Lionel Messi, who's more experienced, and Kylian Mbappe, who's the youngster making the biggest impression," Eto'o answered, as quoted by AS.
"I think he's going to be the chief global star in the years to come."

The 39-year-old also picked his greatest player of all time, and named his ideal attacking trio.
"The best of all was Ronaldo, 'O Fenomeno'. I have such great respect and admiration for him," Eto'o added.
"Then there are a lot of us who come up behind him, and I'd include myself among them.
"As for the best attacking trio, it's very difficult to choose, but I'd go for Messi, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo 'O Fenomeno'."
