Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo after the Real Madrid superstar's recent comments on their relationship – by revealing that he used to make fun of the Portuguese's fashion sense.
Messi Ronaldo To Play In Cape Town?
The Los Blancos talisman recently said he didn't have a relationship with some of his Red Devils teammates, including the English centre back, to demonstrate that friendship with teammates off the pitch has no bearing on their performances on it.
Ferdinand has now revealed that United's dressing room used to make fun of Ronaldo's skinny jeans.
"I actually used to take the mick out of him in the changing rooms, I think he's got the hump," the 37-year-old said during BT Sport's coverage of the clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.
"He used to come in in tight jeans and we used to murder him. He didn't get it."
Ferdinand believes Ronaldo's comments were an emotional reaction to FC Barcelona's current success.
"That (the Ronaldo news conference) just shows the emotion he's got in him and the desire to win and the desire to get back on top," he added.
"At the moment, everyone's talking about Barcelona, and he's not happy with that. And that's his competitive streak coming out."
