In the build-up to the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool on Saturday, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has cleared the air on rumours surrounding his shirtless goal celebrations.
The sight of the Portugal international whipping off his jersey and flexing his muscles has produced some iconic images in his career – one of the more famous of which came in 2015 when he scored a late penalty in the Champions League final.
Asked if he had a similar celebration planned for Saturday's showpiece in Kyiv, Ronaldo claimed that he never plans these things ahead of time, despite what some may think.
"The women like it," Ronaldo joked during an interview with El Chiringuito de Jugones.
"My girlfriend says I look very good. In certain moments when I have done it, I swear to you, even though you might not believe, it just happens.
"You do not plan it, it just happens."

The 33-year-old has made 43 appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring 44 goals along the way, and is currently on level pegging with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
