Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, says the FIFA Ballon d'Or voting doesn't cause him any sleepless nights.
Ronaldo, who has scored 17 goals in 11 games for club and country in the new campaign, is the main contender for this year's Ballon d'Or award and confidently said his statistics speak for themselves.
"I'm not overly concerned with the Ballon d'Or. I do not lose sleep over it," the two-time Champions League winner told reporters.
"My goal is to always be at the top. I have done for the past six or seven years and I have done it. The numbers speak for themselves and I have done it multiple times.
"To analyse a player you have to look at his statistics, so in this case I'm not worried. This Golden Ball is not a situation that keeps me awake at night.
"Those who vote, the captains, coaches, will have time to think about and decide who is the best player at the moment. I'm not worried about this because I know I have done my best in my club and in my national team.
"In January, obviously, I'm not going to be a hypocrite, I would like to win the Golden Ball. But it is not a situation that depends on me.
"I'm going to wait, I'm going to continue to do my job, give my best in my club and my national team and we'll see in January."
Ronaldo also denied that he had suffered another knee injury in Portugal's 2-1 friendly defeat to France, after being seen applying ice on his knee following his substitution.
"It was merely a precaution," the 29-year-old added.
"After the effort of playing it is better to apply ice. It's a completely normal situation."
