PSG Boss Reacts To Neymar's 'Angry' Response To Being Subbed

Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier has reacted to Neymar's angry response to being substituted off during the French giants' 1-0 win over Olympique Lyon on Sunday night.

The 10 Leading Goalscorers In 2022 So Far

Neymar took his tally of assists to seven for the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season during Les Parisiens' victory over Lyon, with the Brazilian dovetailing once again with Lionel Messi to put the Argentine through on goal to bag the match's solitary strike.

The 30-year-old was, however, substituted in the 86th minute for off-season acquisition Carles Soler, a decision the skilful playmaker was visibly unhappy about.

Speaking after the victory, however, Galtier made it clear he was not worried about Neymar's reaction to being taken off.

"In these matches, the great players have to stand out like Ney and Messi tonight who were very good," he told Prime Video.

"Neymar has worked a lot for the team.

"He came out, in my opinion, a little flushed and a little angry but that's normal. He has impeccable behaviour."

The ex-Barcelona star has been in scintillating form this season, having found the back of the net 11 times and assisted on another eight occasions across all competitions, and Galtier further lauded him for his outstanding play in this campaign.

"He is the one who gives the best balance. He has volume and intensity, he is also generous to the team," the French tactician added.

"He is both able to replace himself and to have dazzling, technical quality. He is a great entertainer."
