Mbappe 'Makes' Huge PSG Decision

Mbappe 'Makes' Huge PSG Decision

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain about his shock decision regarding his contract extension.

With Kylian Mbappe entering the final year of his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain, the France captain has made a decision on his future at the club.

According to L'Equipe, the superstar marksman does not plan on committing his long-term future in his home city, with the French publication claiming that he will not exercise his one-year option which will make him a PSG player until 2025.

This comes only a season after the 24-year-old was involved in protracted transfer saga with Real Madrid, which ultimately saw the intervention of France president Emmanuel Macron, who was believed to have convinced Mbappe to stay at the Parc des Princes.

Consequently, the pacey winger would extend his contract with Les Parisiens for two years. Now, with news emerging of the Bondy native's unwillingness commit to an extra 12 months due to the specific wishes of the French forward noted in a formal letter sent to the club on Monday, PSG are said to have made their stance clear about the matter.

The same report claims that, if the France captain does not trigger his extension option or sign a new contract, they will be willing to sell the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner during the coming transfer window.

The record French champions paid AS Monaco €180 million (R3.6 billion) in 2018 forward the attacker's services and will be looking to recoup some of the fee.

The news comes at an opportune time for Real, who recently bid farewell to their talismanic captain Karim Benzema. Los Blancos are believed to have been in the market for an elite forward and having come so close to luring the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner only a year ago, it seems likely that the 14-time European champions may look to sign the striker once again.
