Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world and former manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed what sets the Portuguese forward apart from his peers.

Allegri spent five seasons with the Bianconeri, winning the Serie A title in each campaign, and was at the helm of the club when Ronaldo was signed from Real Madrid last season.
The Italian enjoyed only a season as the former Los Blancos star's coach before taking a sabbatical from the game, but was impressed by the elite mentality displayed by Ronaldo during their shared time it Italy.
"His strength is on a mental level," said Allegri, per La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He is 34 years old, he has won championships, European titles and golden balls but he continues to give himself important stimuli that make the difference.
"The technique is fundamental to stay at high levels for many years, but the difference is made by the head and the professionalism.
If I prefer to coach Ronaldo or a young talent? Ronaldo, without a doubt."

The former Los Blancos superstar scored 21 goals in 31 league appearances for Juve last season, and won the inaugural Serie A MVP award.
