According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca plan on making a spectacular transfer for one of the most in-form strikers in world football in Mbappe.
The Frenchman is reportedly upset that the man who thwarted his ambitions of capturing a second successive World Cup title, Lionel Messi, is set to receive a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain and, because of that, would like to leave his native Paris.
The way in which a number of Argentina players, most noticeably goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, mocked him in the wake of their victory in Qatar is also said to have rubbed Mbappe up the wrong way, and he is reportedly not pleased with the way in which he has been ignored by the PSG top brass since Messi's victory in the final.
For a long time, the 24-year-old forward was heavily linked with the other titans of Spanish football in Real Madrid, but after he snubbed Los Blancos in May to sign an extension with the Ligue 1 champions, Real president Florentino Perez said he felt betrayed by Mbappe's actions and no longer wanted the attacker at the Santiago Bernabeu.
This has seemingly opened the door for Barca to take advantage of the France international's unhappiness as they look to prise the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner away from the Parc des Princes.
The same report suggests that, in an effort to avoid any possibility of Real igniting their interest in Mbappe, Blaugrana president Joan Laporta, through a foreign subsidiary, has outsourced Perez's company to take charge of the remodelling of the Camp Nou when renovations on the stadium begin.

After opting not to sign for the reigning Spanish and European champions earlier this year, Mbappe was also bombarded with hateful messages from the Real faithful on social media, and is said to see Barca as the better fit for him right now as a result.
