Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has once again given his view on the longstanding "Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi" debate, and explained why he prefers the Argentine to the Portuguese.
The German tactician has faced both superstars with Liverpool, eliminating Messi's FC Barcelona last season's UEFA Champions League semi-finals, while losing out to Ronaldo's Real Madrid in the 2017/18 UCL final.
He was recently asked who his favourite is between the two superstars, and he had words of praise for both players.
"If you could paint yourself a perfect player, he would have Ronaldo's height, he could jump and run as high or quick as Ronaldo can do," he told YouTube channel freekickerz.
"And then you add his attitude, it is absolutely perfect and professional, it couldn't be any better.
"And on the other, there is small Messi who is making everything look so simple.
"That is why I like him a little bit more as a player on the pitch.
"But Cristiano is also an absolutely incredible player.
"Both have left their mark for a long time. There are young players with the same potential as them, but doing what they did for so many years is really incredible. Unfortunately, they are both getting older."
