Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo dropped to third spot in Forbes latest update of it's Rich List overall but remained the highest paid footballer.

Ronaldo with $79,6 million (R 982 million) is the top earning footballer, but boxing duo Manny Pacquiao ($160 million, R1.98 billion) and Floyd Mayweather ($300 million, R3.7 billion) earned much more than the Portuguese.
Lionel Messi follows in fourth spot with earnings of $73.8 million (R 911 million), while the next footballer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic with $39.1 million (R 482 million), only comes in 14th spot.
There are 17 footballers among the top-100 highest-paid athletes, who between them earned a stunning $3.2 billion (R40 billion) in total over the last 12 months – an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year,

Forbes updated their list which includes "all salaries, prize money and bonuses paid out between June 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015".
