Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunning set-piece on Wednesday night, drawing level with Lionel Messi on free-kicks this season.
Ronaldo: The Truth About Messi Relationship
The Portuguese has been criticised for his set-pieces over the past couple of seasons as it appeared his glory days from free-kicks were over.
However, as he seemingly does time and time again, Ronaldo has proved his critics wrong this campaign, having already found the back of the net from three free-kicks this season.
The 31-year-old's cracking strike against Celta Vigo on Wednesday night was not enough to see Los Blancos advance to the next round of the Copa del Rey, but did see him draw level with Messi on set-piece goals in 2016/17.
According to Marca, Ronaldo's three free-kick goals were scored in 23 attempts, while Messi scored his three with 25 efforts.
