FC Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, has scored 405 goals, collected 21 trophies and won four Ballon d'Ors since making his senior career debut on this day ten years ago.
The 27-year-old made his official Barcelona debut on 16 October 2004, coming on as a substitute for Deco in a 1-0 derby win over Espanyol.
Messi was only 17 years and 114 days old and went on to become one of football's all-time greats.
He scored his first official goal for Barcelona on 01 May 2005 in a La Liga home game against Albacete in the 91st minute after an assist of Ronaldinho. The Argentine has since scored 405 goals in 529 matches for the Catalan giants.
Amongst several of goal-scoring record, he has won an incredible 21 trophies with Barcelona. Since his debut, the club won six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, three Champions Leagues, six Supercopa de Espanas, two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups.
He has also won four consecutive Ballon d'Ors and is only three goals away from becoming La Liga's all-time top-scorer. Telmo Zarra is currently holding the record with 251 goals.
Overall, Messi's career has been one of football's modern fairy tales since he debuted 10 years ago.
