1) Money
The Argentine earns less than Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona's wage budget is reportedly already stretched. However, in England, teams like United, and even Manchester City or Chelsea, would break the bank to get him.
2) Fraud allegations
Messi is reportedly growing unhappy with repeated allegations of his involvement in fraud activity in Spain. Many suggest he wouldn't have these problem in England because of the different laws around player salaries and image rights.
3) Point to prove
There has always been the argument that Messi wouldn't thrive in England. The question, "But can he do it on a cold, wet Monday night at Stoke City?" comes to mind. At the Camp Nou, the Argentine is the star of the team and has grown through the youth ranks of the Blaugrana, while he would have to adapt to a whole new life if he were to move to a different club. He might decide it's time to prove the doubters wrong.

Messi himself was coy on his future when asked by Spanish football expert Guillem Balague if he would ever play in another league.
"I don't want to look too far ahead. I live for the moment, and at this moment I am with Barcelona in the Spanish League, where I have made my living and where I live very well," he said, as quoted by Yahoo Sport.
