According to the Daily Mail, United sporting director John Murtough flew to the Middle East earlier this month in order to see if he could negotiate possible transfers away from Old Trafford for Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Casemiro.
The quadruplet is some of the club's highest paid players as, according to Spotrac, all of them earn north of £250 000 (R5.8 million) a week at Old Trafford, and given their current prominence, or lack thereof, in Erik ten Hag's set-up, the club seems to think they are not getting their value for money.
The same report claims that while Murtough was unsuccessful in securing a move for any of them to play in the Saudi Pro League as many of the teams their have filled their foreign quotas, the Red Devils chief did establish some good relationships in the Gulf.
The record Premier League winners are said to be willing to wait until the end of the season to offload Varane, Casemiro and Martial in particular, a time when the big-money sides of the Saudi top flight will be likelier to sign the trio. In the case of Sancho, however, the club is understood to be looking to offload the England international as soon as January.
