Spain's record appearance-maker has now been confirmed as Sevilla's newest signing as he makes a return to his boyhood club.

The 37-year-old has spent the past two years of his career plying his trade with the record French champions, but having seen his contract expire in June, the Camas native has spent much of the off-season looking for a new club.

Turkish giants Besiktas, Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad and Major League Soccer side Inter Miami were all mooted as likely destinations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner, but the veteran central defender will now be returning to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium 18 years after leaving.

The reigning UEFA Europa League champions have endured an awful start to the 2023/24 LALIGA campaign, losing all three of their opening league encounters, something Ramos will be looking to help remedy with his arrival.
