Result: Getafe 0-2 Barcelona
Date: 28 September 2019
Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez
FC Barcelona recorded back-to-back wins in LaLiga for the first time this season after defeating Getafe 2-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Saturday afternoon.
The Catalan giants were without the services of talisman Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele, with the former picking up another on Tuesday evening.
Getafe looked lively in the early stages of the first half, as Angel squandered a golden chance after 10 minutes by firing over the crossbar from close range.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was then called into action in the 21st minutes, with the Barcelona shot-stopper producing a superb save to keep out the lively Angel.
Despite their slow start to the half, Barca eventually broke the deadlock on 41 minutes as Ter Stegen's long pass made its way to Luis Suarez who ran through on goal before lobbing Soria.
Barca came out firing at the start of the second half which resulted in the side doubling their lead through Junior Firpo, who slotted home from close range after some good work by Carles Perez.
It was a lively affair in the second half as tempers flared on a couple occasions after a couple late tackles in the middle of the park.
With one eye on the UEFA Champions League this week, Ernesto Valverde opted to withdraw Antoine Griezmann, who has still failed to score an away goal for Barca, for Nelson Semedo.
However, Barca did finish the game with 10 men as defender Clément Lenglet received his marching orders for picking up a second yellow card.
Despite the late sending off, Barca were able to see out the latter stages with relative ease to secure a second successive league win.
