Manchester United confirmed that three senior squad players have been released ahead of next season.
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, and veteran defenders Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof were released by the Red Devils following their difficult 2024/25 season.
"Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are among those departing, as their contracts come to an end," the club said in an official statement.
Eriksen featured 108 times for the club and scored on his final appearance in the final game victory over Aston Villa. During his time at Old Trafford, the Dane won the 2022/23 League Cup and 2023/24 FA Cup.
Swedish defender Victor Lindelof played 284 games for Manchester United since signing in 2017 and has been a regular feature playing under Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Erik ten Hag. The defender also won the 2022/23 League Cup and 2023/24 FA Cup.
Veteran defender Jonny Evans returned to Man Utd in 2023 after his first stint in Manchester between 2006 and 2015.
The Northern Irishman pulled on the Red Devils kit 241 times and enjoyed an illustrious career, winning three Premier League titles, one Champions League, one Club World Cup, and one League Cup during his first spell at the club, before adding the League Cup and FA Cup to his trophy haul during his second stint.
The Red Devils also released several academy players such as Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan, and Tom Wooster.
