The England international has once again departed Old Trafford temporarily after agreeing to join the reigning LaLiga champions for the 2025/26 campaign.

The 27-year-old had spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa following a fallout with United manager Ruben Amorim. Now, he will continue his career away from his boyhood club, having signed a deal with the Catalan giants.

Barcelona had been actively seeking reinforcements on the left wing since the start of last season. Their initial pursuit of Spain international Nico Williams appeared promising—with personal terms reportedly agreed—but the move collapsed after the player decided to extend his stay at Athletic Club.

Liverpool's Luis Diaz was another target for the Blaugrana, but the Reds’ high valuation ultimately made a transfer unfeasible. Now, the Spanish giants have landed Rashford, who brings elite-level experience and versatility to their frontline.

The Manchester United academy graduate is expected to slot into an attacking trio alongside Robert Lewandowski and rising star Lamine Yamal, with Raphinha also part of the club’s formidable attacking options.

It is understood that Rashford accepted a 15% pay cut from his reported €300 000-per-week (R6.1 million) salary to make the move to Camp Nou possible.
