Man Utd 'Make Decision' On Amorim Amid Bad Form

Manchester United have reportedly come to a decision regarding the future of Ruben Amorim amid the club's horrid run of form.

The Portuguese tactician has struggled to turn the Red Devils' form around since taking over from Erik ten Hag. Amorim has only managed four league wins out of the 14 he has taken charge of, leaving United in 15th position.

A common narrative regarding why the Lisboa native has battled to turn the club's fortunes around is his insistence on playing with a back three. It is alleged that during the interview process for the then-vacant managerial position, Amorim informed the United chiefs that he does not deviate from this tactical approach.

Earlier this week, news was circulating that some within the Mancunian dressing room feel he could implement tactics that better suit the current squad. However, according to GiveMeSport, the 40-year-old will do no such thing, and the board of directors will be backing him.

This is the first full season the INEOS ownership group has been in charge of the club's sporting aspect, and having already fired Ten Hag—a dismissal that cost the club £14.5 million (R337 million)—they are keen to see out their United project with the former Portugal international.

While results are no doubt important, the same report claims that INEOS have a long-term vision for the club and see Amorim spearheading that. A large squad overhaul is expected at the end of the season, and the former Sporting CP boss is expected to be backed in the transfer window.
