The biggest news of the weekend came from Real's camp as the Spanish giants reportedly decided to call off the Welshman's move to China.
BBC Sport claimed Bale had been expecting to join Chinese club Jiangsu Suning on a three-year deal worth £1 million (R17 million) a week, but Real decided to block the transfer. The Chinese transfer window closes this week, and the Welshman now seems likely to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Another player whose exit from the LaLiga side seems a complicated one is James Rodriguez. The Colombian has been linked with moves to Napoli and Atletico Madrid, but Real's demands seems to have scared off both clubs.
According to Marca, Zinedine Zidane would prefer to sell Rodriguez to Napoli rather than a direct rival, with Atletico's 7-3 thrashing of their crosstown rivals on the weekend not making the situation any easier.
In other news, Paul Pogba's oldest brother Mathias Pogba has joined Spanish fourth-tier side CD Manchego Ciudad Real. Reports suggest he joined the side in Madrid in order to be close to his younger brother, who has been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos.
Pogba's United teammate Lukaku is also still heavily linked with a departure from Old Trafford. The latest from Gazetta dello Sport is that Juventus' Paulo Dybala and Lukaku could swap teams, with the two side's valuing their players at a similar price.
