Former AC Milan and Manchester City striker Balotelli most recently turned out for Marseille, for whom he scored eight goals in 15 appearances, but elected not to extend his short-term stay with the Ligue 1 club.
Following his departure, the Italian international could now be set to complete a shock move in the coming days, having been linked with a move to Brazil.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli is in talks to join Brazilian side Flamengo on a two-and-a-half-year deal worth €15 million (R253 million).

The 28-year-old was previously linked with a move to Premier League club West Ham United, but is now seemingly closing in on a move to South America, where he will reportedly also earn a €4.5 million (R75 million) signing bonus.
If the deal goes through, Balotelli would become the latest player formerly based in Europe to move to Brazil after Dani Alves' move to Sao Paulo earlier this month.
