It was confirmed on Thursday that Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa and Fiorentina attacker Nicolas Gonzalez will not be able to feature at the World Cup as a result of their injuries.
While Correa featured in Argentina's 5-0 friendly win over the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, Gonzalez watched on from the sidelines.
It has since been announced that Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa and Atlanta United's Thiago Almada will be their replacements in the 26-man group, two players who were named in Scaloni's preliminary squad.
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, 18, was said to be under consideration before the Argentina Football Association confirmed Scaloni's decision.
Correa and Almada were both in Argentina on holiday when they received the news, with the pair delighted to be heading to their first World Cup with their national team.
