A Germany international defender has been branded the 'German Maguire' by a former a Real Madrid star after the side's FIFA World Cup exit.
The four-time world champions failed to make it past the group stages at the World Cup for a second straight tournament despite beating Costa Rica in their fina group game.

Hansi Flick's toops finished bottom of their group and central defender Niklas Sule has come in for some criticism by former Netherlands and Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
"Germany have a problem in defence. Niklas Sule is not world-class. He is the German Harry Maguire," Van der Vaart told NOS Journaal.
Former German World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger also questioned the Flick's defenders, except Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger.
"I am disappointed and shocked by what happened. We have only one player in the defense that matches the level of the national team, and that's Rüdiger," he said, as per ARD.
"The rest are at best at the level of a Bundesliga average."
