Havertz Speaks After Germany's World Cup Elimination

Chelsea star Kai Havertz has revealed where he believes Germany did damage to themselves following their shock elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night.

Lewandowski: What I Told Messi After On-Field Altercation

Despite Hansi Flick side's 4-2 win over Costa Rica, the Germans crashed out of the tournament after Spain suffered a 2-1 defeat to Japan.

Havertz, 23, believes their 2-1 loss to Japan in their Group E opening match was what cost them a spot in the round of 16.

"We have to look at ourselves," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.

"We had enough chances to win against Japan, enough chances to win against Spain.

"We had the game in our hands today and still conceded two goals against Costa, which shouldn't really be possible with the quality we have.

"We then turned the game around, which was good. But then you see the other result.

"With quality like that, we can't afford to lose to Japan. The game against Japan made the difference."

Manager Steps Down After Shock World Cup Exit
