Germany Being Investigated By FIFA After Hansi Flick Breaks Rule

Germany are reportedly under investigation by FIFA after head coach Hansi Flick's rule-breaking decision ahead of his side's 2022 FIFA World Cup clash against Spain on Sunday night.

A report from the Daily Mirror claims the 2014 world champions are being investigated by the sport's governing body after Flick decided to attend a pre-match press conference alone at the weekend.

It is suggested that Germany have potentially violated Article 44 in FIFA's rule book, which each nation agreed to, with the clause stating that teams must attend press conferences before every match with their manager and a player.

Flick, however, is said to have to defied this agreement deliberately this past weekend, explaining that he does not want any of his players travelling to and from press responsibilities in the build-up to a match.

"You sit in the car for a total of almost three hours," he said, according to the British publication.

"And that's before such an important game."

German outlet Kicker reported that Germany could be slapped with a fine or a warning for their actions, with it said that they had previously asked FIFA to move the venue where press conferences are hosted closer to their training ground.
