Official: Brazil’s World Cup Squad Revealed

Brazil squad

Brazil manager Tite has officially named his 2022 FIFA World Cup squad ahead of the tournament in Qatar, where the Selecao will be in a group with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.

Premier League Urged To Cancel Final Round Of Matches Before World Cup

Heading into the tournament in Qatar, many believe the South American giants could be among the strongest sides competing for the ultimate prize of being crowned world champions, with Tite's squad announcement perhaps justifying those sentiments.

On Monday, the 61-year-old named his final selection ahead of the World Cup in the Middle East, where Brazil will play their first game in Group G against Serbia on 24 November.

Neymar unsurprisingly will spearhead the losing 2021 Copa America finalists' attack, with Manchester United trio Fred, Casemiro and Antony included in the 26-man squad, along with Barcelona winger Raphinha.

Real Madrid forwards Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo will also make the trip to Qatar, while 69-time Brazil international Philippe Coutinho will not. The Aston Villa midfielder was involved in Tite's September call-up, but has not made the cut, neither was there a place for Liverpool's Robert Firmino.

Final squad:

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City), Weverton (Palmeiras)

Defenders: Dani Alves (Pumas UNAM), Danilo (Juventus), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Alex Telles (Sevilla), Bremer (Juventus), Eder Militao (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Thiago Silva (Chelsea)

Midfielders: Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle), Casemiro (Manchester United), Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Lucas Paqueta (West Ham)

Attackers: Antony (Manchester United), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Pedro (Flamengo), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid)

Brazil's fixtures

After their opening game against Serbia, Brazil will take on Switzerland four days later and will play their final group match against Cameroon on 2 December.
