This year's edition of the Club World Cup is the first since it expanded to a 32-team tournament and features the biggest and most successful teams from each continent.
With the tournament opener just days away, a supercomputer has predicted what percentage each team has to make the last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final as well as crowning the overall winner.
According to Opta, the supercomputer has simulated the competition 10,000 times and the Opta model used the findings and confirmed the pre-tournament predictions.
The results showed that Mamelodi Sundowns stood a 47,1% chance of qualifying for the last 16, predicting the team to finish second in Group F behind Borussia Dortmund.
Masandawana was also given a 13% chance to qualify for the quarter-finals, a 2,8% chance to qualify for the semi-finals, a 0,6% chance for the final, and a 0,1% chance to win the competition.
The tournament favourites are PSG, who was given an 18,5% chance to win the competition, while Man City (17,8%) and Bayern Munich (12.8%) rounded out the top three.
