With Romelu Lukaku having been heavily criticised for his performance against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League this week, another high-profile name associated with Manchester United has claimed he has never seen another striker with as bad a first touch as the Belgian.
Reports: Man Utd Board Send Mourinho A Message
Following his display in United's 1-0 loss on Tuesday, many pundits and fans alike, as well as Jose Mourinho, spoke of their concern over Lukaku's poor hold-up play.
With the Belgian failing to cause any trouble to the experienced Bianconeri defence at Old Trafford, Lee Sharpe has become the latest former United player to slam the 25-year-old.
"I've never seen a centre-forward with such a bad touch," he told talkSPORT.
"If your centre-forward can't hold the ball up, it makes it a very hard game.
"He's saying he's played a lot of football at the World Cup and since, and that he's feeling it.
"I think the best thing would be to give him a rest. Send him off on holiday for a couple of weeks."
