Owen Hargreaves
The former England international signed for the Red Devils in May 2007 for £17 million, and only made 39 appearances in his four injury-stricken seasons at the club.
Eric Djemba-Djemba
Sir Alex Ferguson had high hopes for Djemba-Djemba when he signed in 2003, and the Cameroonian was even once dubbed as the 'new Roy Keane'. However, the midfielder failed to impress and was sold just two years later.
Radamel Falcao
Although the Colombian joined United on a loan-deal, it was a move that never worked out for either party. Falcao scored just four goals from 26 Premier League games, with Louis Van Gaal opting not to make the deal permanent.
Anderson
The Brazilian signed from Porto in 2007, and was set to become the Premier League's next big thing. However, Anderson failed to justify his £26 million transfer fee and was released on a free last season.
Juan Sebastian Veron
A £28.1 million signing from Lazio in 2001, Veron failed to adapt to the fast-paced style of the Premier League. The Argentine played 82 games for the Red Devils, and was sold for almost half the amount he came in for two years later to Chelsea.
