The Spaniard, who joined the Blues for €33 million before the season, said he was honoured to be the first player to wear PUMA's latest boot.
"As a Spaniard I can't resist a red boot. It's really striking and the dragon skin graphic on the heel gives it a special look," he said, as quoted in PUMA's official press release.
"It is a real honour to be the first player to wear it, this weekend when we play Manchester United.
"It is an important match and Manchester will be hard to beat as every point counts so close to the end of the season."
The German shoe manufacturer also stated: "PUMA today introduced the latest evoPOWER 1.2 football boot with a blazing new make-over inspired by thetraditional Japanese dragon, a symbol of speed, power, wisdom and agility.
"The boot will be launched on pitch by Cesc Fàbregas when Chelsea FC face Manchester United on Saturday night."
